Of course, everyone wants better health. The question is: how to get that? One way is to make sure your diet includes an extra push of ingredients that fight infection and improve health. Some ingredients known for this are honey, garlic, and apple cider. These ingredients combined or also in other combinations can be used to stimulate your system.
Garlic & Vinegar Together
The first tonic to consider is a mixture of just two of these items: garlic and apple cider vinegar. This tonic is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine practices. Start with a high-quality apple cider vinegar.
You may substitute rice vinegar in a pinch. Select garlic with a purple skin. Peel the garlic cloves and then mash them. Add enough vinegar so that the garlic and vinegar are a one to one ratio. Mix and pour into a glass jar. Close the jar tightly and store in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks.
You can keep the tonic for a long time as long as it remains stored in a cool, dark place in a well-sealed jar. After one month, the garlic can be strained out. For health maintenance, take one teaspoon after each meal. The tonic could also be used on salads or noodles, but avoid heating it as that will remove the garlic’s medicinal properties.
With Some Lemon
This tonic combines all three ingredients of apple cider vinegar, honey, garlic, and some lemon juice. First, take 10-12 cloves of garlic, peel and mash them. Simmer the mashed garlic in one and a half cups of pure water for ten minutes. Strain the garlic out. Stir in one-quarter cup of apple cider vinegar.
Then add the juice from one lemon and four tablespoons of honey. Stir well. Store it in a glass jar with a tight lid. It can keep in the refrigerator for up to five days. Drink some two to three times a day.
Just us three
This tonic combines just the basic three. Place 8 peeled garlic cloves, one cup apple cider vinegar, and one cup honey in a bowl. Combine them all together. Add two tablespoons to a glass of water or juice. Drink first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. This tonic will keep for up to five days. Be sure to store it in a jar with a tightly fitting lid. Store it in the refrigerator.
And with Some Ginger
Select eight cloves of garlic. Peel them. Choose a small piece of ginger and peel it. Place both items in a blender and grind them until they are fine. Add one cup apple cider vinegar and one cup of honey to the blender. Mix for a further thirty seconds. Pour into a sealable glass jar and refrigerate. Stir the mixture once daily. It will be ready to use after five days. To use, mix two teaspoons into a glass of water or juice. Drink first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
Cayenne Pepper will Spice Things up
Peel eight cloves of garlic. Select a small- to medium-sized cayenne pepper. Place both items in a blender and puree them until they are fine. Add one cup apple cider vinegar and one cup of honey to the blender. Mix for a further fifteen seconds. Pour into a sealable glass jar and refrigerate. The tonic will be ready to use after five days. Stir daily to help keep it fresh. To use, mix one to two teaspoons into a glass of water or juice. This should be the first thing you eat or drink in the morning.
Two will do
Combine one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with one tablespoon raw honey. Dissolve into one glass of water. Drink twice daily. The simplicity of this tonic is such that it should be made fresh each time you plan to use it.
Some Cinnamon Please
Another tonic combines the power of apple cider vinegar with cinnamon. This tonic is meant to be taken a half-hour before meals. In a medium-size glass of clean water, add three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with one teaspoon of powdered cinnamon. Drink three to five times daily. One tablespoon of honey may be optionally added.
Mixed with Green Tea for Vitality
Mix one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to one teaspoon of honey. Add this to a freshly brewed cup of hot green tea. Drink the hot tea. You should consume this four to six times daily.
Honey Garlic for Health
Take one head of garlic and peel all the garlic cloves inside. Crush the garlic cloves and let them rest for fifteen minutes. Place into a sealable glass jar and pour in enough honey to cover all the garlic. Put the lid on the jar and let it rest on the kitchen counter for five days.
After five days, move it to the refrigerator to keep it cold. When you start to feel a head cold coming on, simply use a spoon and eat one of the cloves of honey-covered garlic right from the jar. Eat the honey, garlic, and all. Alternately, you could use this to spice up a salad dish.
