Here are some home remedies that can help.

Low Salt Diet

Reduce salt in your diet. Do not add salt to food either in cooking or at the table. Extra salt will increase the stress on your kidneys as they have to do more work to maintain a proper salt balance. In addition, watch for high salt foods. For example, canned soups, frozen dinners, and highly processed foods will have high salt, or sodium, in them.

Dandelion

Consider adding dandelion regularly to your plans. Dandelion has diuretic properties. So, it will help remove excess fluid which can build up in your arms and legs. Dandelion has long been recommended in Traditional Chinese Medicine for kidney problems.

Parsley Juice

Parsley is renowned as a way to freshen the breath. But it is also a good cleanser for the body. It is rich in important vitamins such as vitamin A, B, and C. Just chop up some parsley and pour boiling water over them. Let the mixture steep until it is cool enough to drink. Strain out the parsley and drink it. Alternatively, you can boil the chopped parsley in the pot.

Cranberry Juice

Cranberry juice is highly recommended for kidney issues. Drink 2-3 glasses of cranberry juice per day. Watch carefully for how much salt and sugar have been added to the juice. Also, it is important not to drink too much cranberry juice. Several glasses a day is enough.

Make the Switch to Olive Oil

Extra virgin olive oil has many beneficial properties. In your cooking and at your table, change to using extra virgin olive oil for all your oil needs. Olive oil is considered healthy oil that promotes health.

Lower Protein

Having too much protein causes extra strain on your kidneys. Get the right amount of protein in your diet. Cut down if you are consuming in excess. Make sure your protein sources are low fat and low sodium. Avoid processed meats.

Water

It is one of the most important things for your life. Your body is made up of over 70% of it. It is water. Avoid dehydration by having plenty of water. Water helps flush out toxins by supporting excretion (urine production). Having plenty of water helps with blood pressure and overall health. Adults should have at least two liters of pure water daily.

Get Some Exercise

Light exercise will strengthen the body and help improve immunity. Consider brisk walking for 20-30 minutes three times a week. Another option is yoga or tai chi. Be sure to get instruction in doing the poses and form correctly for maximum benefit.
