This very common affliction causes peeling of the skin, itching, and burning. Foot fungus is also known as tinea pedis. It most commonly occurs between the toes, especially between the fourth and fifth toes. Tinea pedis happens when feet are sweaty and moist. Damp socks and shoes favor the growth of the fungus. It is easily spread among individuals through contact with clothes and other surfaces.

Fight fungus by keeping dry

Reduce the conditions that allow foot fungus to thrive. Dry between your toes with a clean towel after swimming or bathing. Wear sandals to allow air to circulate around your feet. Wear socks that absorb moisture and change them several times per day. Last, use powder, such as baby powder, on your feet to promote more arid conditions.
