Italy is famous for many things including the seat of the Roman Catholic pontiff – Rome. There are also other great cities in Italy but the very city that will awaken your consciousness is the city of Venice. It is very difficult to attempt to describe this wonderful city without running into the trouble of lacking words.

What is even more interesting is that the city houses the first seven star hotel (have you heard of that before?) the Aman Venice.

If you have ever been to a five star hotel, then you can imagine what a seven star hotel would look like. At this point you will not be wrong to say that Amam Venice is the juiciest luxury property anyone can visit.

How many people got to hear about Aman Venice

The property probably existed for some time but attention was drawn to it when it was on air that George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin would celebrate their wedding reception in a new luxury hotel where they would also enjoy some stay back then in September 2014.

Aman Venice is a fast growing luxury hotel resort and till date, there are 30 of them around the globe in twenty countries. Aman Venice came to be in June 2013 and it was as a result of the transformation done to the 16th century Palazzo Papodopoli on the Grand Canal into a luxury hotel by the founder of Aman, Adrian Zecha.

The original owner of the property still lives in the topmost floor of the Palazzo while the rest of the property has become a luxury hotel which is now popularly known as Amam Venice. The whole idea was collaboration between Amam and the property owner.

The location of Aman Venice

Aman Venice is located at the center of Venice in the Grand Canal in the San Polo district which is a leisure walk from the Rialto Bridge. From the airport to the hotel is nothing out of the usual. You take a cab through a short distance to a row of docks. A boat then carries you to the Grand Canal.

Soon, the distance would be illumined by the hotel and strings of shops. The city is magical if you happen to arrive in the night. You would probably make an entry into the main entrance of the Grand Canal through its private pier.

A look at the interior of Aman Venice

Obviously, Aman was designed to impact on the guest the true meaning of visiting the Palazzo and this is evident through its lack of branding and reception desk. You will be greeted to extravagant fixtures and some modern trappings on entry.

The hotel is a perfect blend of the old and new, of renaissance and contemporary elegance. It has 22 rooms and 2 suites namely the Alcolva Tiepolo Suit and the Canal Grande Suite. The difference in the two suites is glaring in their furnishing and each of the 21 rooms has their distinct furnishing.

It is not only about the architectural designs, the Aman Venice also have a touch of nature namely its two large gardens containing all sorts of flowers.
