Their lighting and cooling systems are also energy efficient and most importantly, most of the materials were locally sourced, increasing the economic impact in the region.
7. Lapa Rios Ecolodge
This Costa Rican hotel has become the forerunners in the fight against poaching and deforestation in the Osa Peninsula region of Costa Rica. They protect the one thousand acres of their private property from those who seek to destroy the eco-system for personal gains. They use solar powered heater for their water.
